Actor Brian White takes a break from the lights, the camera, and
the action to ask a racy question: Is Hollywood the tastemaker
for national politics?
PERHAPS MATURITY IS beginning to set in, but with each passing
year I notice more of life’s ironies. Like the fact that
during the month of February our nation will commemorate the history
of African Americans with Black History Month, while many of us
in Hollywood will celebrate the work of the brightest minds and
stars in the entertainment world at the Academy Awards. The irony?
African American thespians have collected just 10 Oscars in any
major category (other than music) since the awards began in 1929...
